Song-Cycling. Alice Woodbridge, soprano, and Susanna Stranders, piano, will perfom a programme of works by Handel, Quilter, Mozart and Gersgwin. The duo are cycling, singing and playing their way across Britain in aid of the Alzheimer's Society and the the Multiple Sclerosis Society. Supper after performance at 8.15pm. |

Fringe at Club |

In conjunction with the Edinburgh Festival Fringe, the Club is planning a series of 'tasters' of acts by selected groups performing at the Fringe to allow them to show off their talents and provide Members and their guests with a preview of what will be on show at the world's biggest annual festival of the arts. Across three floors at the Club, this will be an ideal event to which you can bring your friends. A choice of savoury platters at £5 each will be available throughout the event. |

Piano Recital |

Bruce Thomson will give a pre-lunch Piano Recital of classical music. Bruce studied music at Napier College in Edinburgh and the RSAMD in Glasgow. If you want to have lunch after the recital please ensure that you book in advance as this is likely to be a very popular event. |

A little bit of Paris comes to Rutland Square as Jim Haynes has agreed, once again, to hold one of his world-famous Sunday Dinners in our Club. As always, Jim's Sunday Dinners are very informal, the only rule being that you must reserve a place in advance. Ticket price includes a welcome drink on arrival and a two course buffet supper. Pay bars will be available throughout the Club as the event is on all three floors. Try not to miss it! |

Gala Celebrity Night |

Gala Celebrity Night with 'The Jackal', Edward Fox. Most of us recall that blockbuster film of Frederick Forsyth's book, The Day of the Jackal. Well this is your chance to meet 'The Jackal' in person as Edward Fox, the star of the film, will be joining us for dinner. This exciting evening, when Members will have priority booking status, starts with drinks between 5.15 and the 6pm (prompt) screening of the film. Edward Fox will be with us throughout, and after dinner will be happy to talk about his career and answer questions. Early booking is recommended for this very special evening. |

Jenny Martin Exhibition. Jenny was the winner of the Scottish Arts Club / Royal Scottish Academy Award 2008. Most of the work for this solo show was produced following a trip to India. The subjects range from palaces to street scenes and show a skill in the use of scale, composition and colour experimentation. |

Doors Open Day |

'Open Doors Day' was started in 1991 by the Cockburn Association (Edinburgh's Civic Trust) and is a celebration of Edinburgh's architecture, culture and heritage. We hope as many members as possible will come in on the day so that the visiting public can see the Scottish Arts Club 'in action'! |
