Annual General Meeting of the Scottish Arts Club

Saturday 8th April 2017, at 11am in St Marks Unitarian Church, 7 Castle Terrace

Dear Member

Notice is hereby given of the 2017 Annual General Meeting (AGM) of the Scottish Arts Club, which is to be held on Saturday April 8th at 11am in St Marks Unitarian Church, 7 Castle Terrace. 

All Members are welcome at the meeting but only Full Members can vote. Honorary Members can participate in discussions but may not vote; Affiliate and Overseas Members may attend as observers.

Members are requested to indicate whether they intend to attend the AGM as soon as possible and are reminded that booking for lunch afterwards in the Club is essential.

Nominations to Council are invited; guidance and deadlines for this process are provided in the linked documents, Guidance notes for nomination to Council and the Nomination list. Links are also provided to view the audited accounts for 2016, the accountants report and the minutes of the 2016 AGM. These notices will be posted on the Club notice board at this time and also be put on the Club website.

Further information, consisting of the AGM agenda, the Council Report, and any other competent material will be circulated to the Membership, posted on the Club notice board and be available on the Club website in advance of the AGM as specified by the Constitution.

Chopin - Piano Recital, given by John Bryden (followed by Supper)

The internationally accalimed John Bryden returns to present the story of the fabulous Polish composer, Frédéric Chopin, who revolutionised classical piano playing. Despite being gravely ill, Chopin gave many performances in Scotland, one of his last being in Edinburgh, in 1848. He died just over a year later.

If you wish to take the two-course Supper, after the recital, please book and pay for your tickets in advance, at the Bar, or by telephone to the Club Office.
